2120 Music is proud to announce that the Top Songwriters Showcase held at The Vanguard, Sydney, in February 2022 was a resounding success and was filmed by Golden Guitar-winner Jay Seeney, Blacklist Productions.  

The show was headlined by Lucie Tiger, who played accompanied by her band. Lucie’s song ‘Gasoline’ won the Tamworth Songwriters Association Country Blues Song of the Year 2021 and she’s enjoyed success with recent releases ‘Found My Home’ and ‘Midnight Goodbye’, both of which charted well on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart (USA) and the CountryTown Hot 50 Country Songs Chart (Australia). 

Golden Guitar-nominee Andy Penkow opened the show with an acoustic set. Andy’s songs ‘Before I Go’, ‘Chasing The Sun’, and ‘Drowning in the Whisky’, have all scored well on the Australian country music charts. Next in the line-up was Toyota Starmaker-nominee Kora Naughton, who’s second album, ‘Nineteen’, reached #11 on the ARIA Country Albums charts in March 2021 and continues to receive critical acclaim. Kora was followed by Golden Guitar-nominee Blake Dantier, who has co-written several songs with Cass Hopetoun which have charted very well on the CountryTown Top 50 chart, including ‘Shots’, ‘Typical Bride’, and ‘Who Needs Hawaii’. 

Established in 1997 by John Cass, The Vanguard is Sydney’s leading mid-size, purpose-built live music venue. The Vanguard has hosted many international and Australian acts including Elvis Costello, Diesel, Russell Crowe among many other artists.
