We were excited to see Robert K. Oermann's review of Lucie Tiger's Harvest Moon! Mr. Oermann is a highly respected music critic, author and historian, who has an encyclopedic knowledge about music and in particular, country music. As keen followers of Oermann's Music Row DISClaimer review column, we were hopeful of getting a review but wary as he doesn't hold back if he believes a song has flaws. Robert Oermann's review of Lucie Tiger's Harvest Moon was published in Music Row on November 14, 2025. Lucie Tiger recorded Harvest Moon in Muscle Shoals
A twanging murder ballad with a wicked, thumping, uptempo kick. This Aussie troubadour recently won the Country Vocalist of the Year honor at the Josie Wards, which recognizes indie acts.
In the same week as Robert K. Oermann's review, an article appeared in Country Town: Lucie Tiger Wins Country Vocalist Of The Year At The 2025 Josie Music Awards by Megan Hopkins, on November 13, 2025. Here's an abbreviated excerpt from the article:
The milestone win marks a major moment in Lucie Tiger’s fast rising career in the states, as she stepped into the historic Opry circle to accept her award. With seven charting singles and a new award under her belt, Lucie Tiger’s American dream keeps getting brighter. Based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, since late 2023, Tiger has been making her mark in the heartland of American music. Lucie Tiger is showing the world what independent country artists can achieve on their own terms.

Rober K. Oermann reviews of songs by Australian artists from Music Row.
ANDREW FARRISS / “Something Stronger”
Writers: Andrew Farriss/Lawrence Minson; Producer: Andrew Farriss; Label: AF
– Remember INXS and its passionate 1987 rock hit “Need You Tonight”? The Aussie band’s Andrew Farriss is now recording in a country/Americana mode. His single’s track is a pluperfect country rocker and the song is also catchy and country. But he remains a pop singer rather than a country vocal stylist (November 14, 2024).
SEAFORTH & JORDAN DAVIS / “Good Beer”
Writers: Tom Jordan/Mitch Thompson/Rocky Block/Jordan Dozzi; Producer: Tom Jordan; Label: Arista
–The Aussie duo teams up with Davis on this charming, light-hearted ditty. In case you’re wondering, “A good beer is a cold one.” This sunny, bouncy outing will have you feeling like springtime, or at the very least will leave you with a big smile on yer face (January 20, 2022).
ANDREW FARRISS / “Drifting”
Writers: Marti Frederiksen/Andrew Farriss; Producer: Andrew Farriss; Label: BBR
–Farriss is a former member of the huge rock band INXS. This tempo tune occurs on his debut solo album, and it has an open-air, California-country vibe. It’s an attractive, gypsy/bohemian thing with wafting strings way off in the distance (January 20, 2022).
COLIN LILLIE & CATHERINE BRITT / “The Road”
Writers: Catherine Britt/Colin Lillie; Producer: Catherine Britt; Label: Beverly Hillbilly
–Aussie newcomer Lillie enlisted the aid of veteran Britt to create his debut album. She also joins him as his duet partner on this ballad of wanderlust and fidelity. They are both fine singers, and the understated production is just right. It has a languid simplicity that is quite relaxing (January 13, 2022).
DARLINGHURST / “Gotta Go Rodeo”
Writers: none listed; Producer: none listed; Label: Helium Records
— I am told that this male-female country quartet is a big deal in Australia. This sprightly tune has rhythm to spare. The lead vocals overly dominate, to the point that you can barely hear the harmonies. The background crowd cheering is meant to make the song sound “exciting.” It does nothing for me (February 18, 2021).
CATHERINE BRITT / “Me”
Writers: Catherine Britt/Katrina Burgoyne; Publishers: none listed; Producer: Catherine Britt/Michael Muchow; Label: Beverly Hillbilly
– Dull production, dull performance, dull sentiment. Go find a song (January 28, 2021).
SEAFORTH / “Breakups”
Writers: Tom Jordan/Mitch Thompson/Liz Rose/Cameron Bedell; Publishers: Warner Chappell Music; Producer: Tom Jordan; Label: RCA
– A plaintive sob from a heart crushed by a bad goodbye. The vocals have a sweet/sad quality that evokes a lonely guy, drinking too much, hurting a lot and thinking about her with deep regret. It’s a little word-y, but the feelings are authentic. I’m in (January 28, 2021).
SEAFORTH/Everything Falls for You
Writers: none listed; Producer: none listed; Publisher: none listed; RCA
– Very pretty. It’s a plaintive, pop-ish ballad with a lovelorn lyric and a boy-band vocal delivery. This Aussie duo seems to specialize in this kind of thing (June 4, 2020).
MORGAN EVANS/Young Again
Writers: Morgan Evans/Chris DeStefano/Josh Kear; Producer: Chris DeStefano; Publisher: none listed; Warner Bros.
– I dig this guy a lot, and he seems to be on his way. This extremely catchy, bopping anthem is another big step forward. Sing along and shout for joy. It needs to become huge (December 23, 2018).
MORGAN EVANS/Kiss Somebody
Writers: Morgan Evans/Chris DeStefano/Josh Osborne; Producer: Chris DeStefano; Publisher: none listed; Warner Bros.
– The crash-and-burn production stirs up lots of excitement. His vocal powers through, on top of all the noise, with occasional outbursts that come close to shouting. Energetic and intense (July 27, 2017)
