In this article, we shone a light on the diversity of music that was the 2024 WC Handy Festival from the opening night Kick Off Block Party featuring Lucie Tiger + Band and Rollin’ In The Hay through to Johnny Belew’s excellent Shoals Songwriter Showcase series which ran across six days.

The article also featured the very popular Muscle Shoals Meets The 80s event organized by Russell Medford and The Fiddleworms. This great show raised funds to build two special needs playgrounds and showcased the talents of a diverse ensemble of Shoals artists and musicians.

Plus, we happily wrote about the Tennessee Valley Jazz Masters Series hosted by Ed Bisquera, held monthly in the Shoals. The music, talent and vibe at all of these events reinforces the local legend that there’s something in the water.
