Lucie Tiger's single Burn It Down was released on July 29, 2022, and it was her 4th song that charted on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart in the US, debuting at #78 on the chart on December 9, 2022.
Burn It Down followed on from Right Next To You (#78 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart, July 1, 2022), Midnight Goodbye (#68 on the MusicRow chart, December 10, 2021) and Found My Home (#50 on July 18, 2021 with 13 weeks on the chart).
Burn It Down also scored Top 5 PlayMPE Chart #3 Downloads and #1 Streams on August 2, 2022 in the United States.
The song is a fired up departure from her familiar themes and shows another side of Lucie’s songwriting. Lucie says, “This song was motivated by recent events during the pandemic and inspired by Miranda Lambert’s Kerosene.”
The pandemic brought out the best in most people; however, many would agree that it also brought out the worst in a few. Lucie was not immune to this and she was personally impacted by people who seemed to think it’s okay to cheat their way forward at the expense of others. As she says, “If you get on the bad side of a songwriter, you’ll probably end up in their lyrics.”
In Burn It Down, Lucie is done with being nice and it’s her way of calling out bad behaviour. With a compelling blend of determination and grit, Lucie’s telling us that she's leaving the past behind and moving on in no uncertain terms.
Written and performed by Lucie Tiger (acoustic guitar and vocals) Burn It Down features Will McFarlane (electric guitar), Bob Wray (bass), Brad Kuhn (organ), and Justin Holder (drums). Produced by John Gifford and recorded in Muscle Shoals. Released to radio in Australia on 29 July and in the US on 29 August.
